Kingsdown Coastal Cabin

Kingsdown · Deal · The White Cliffs

The Location

Kingsdown sits quietly between Deal and the white cliffs — the kind of Kent coastal village that doesn't advertise itself much and is better for it. The beach is shingle, the air is sharp, and the walking is excellent in both directions.

Turn left out of the park and you're on a car-free seafront path to Walmer Castle, a Tudor fortress with award-winning gardens about forty minutes on foot. Turn right and you're heading toward the white cliffs, with paths that reach Dover if you have the legs for it.

The Zetland Arms is right on the beach in Kingsdown, five minutes from the cabin. Deal is fifteen minutes by car — a proper seaside town with independent restaurants, good pubs, and a Tuesday market worth getting up for.

Getting here:

By train: London St Pancras to Martin Mill takes around 90 minutes via Dover Priory. Deal station is also nearby.

By car: Allow 90 minutes from central London via the M2 or M20. Free parking close to the cabin.
